Whoosh, this wrap blouse with statement sleeves is giving all that it’s meant to give. I really love it and the fact that I initially didn’t plan to make this makes it all the more fascinating. Because it wasn’t a part of my schedule of sewing projects for the month. I didn’t plan it all as I literally just stumbled on it while scrolling through my Pinterest feed one morning.
And got inspired by the Tubo version of the wrap blouse. So I made the decision right away to make one for myself. Just look how pretty it looks, with the statement sleeves adding an extra detail to the overall look of the design.
And that’s how I got here.
Materials used
I used about 3 yards of Ankara fabric and 3 yards of black lining fabric to put it all together. There’s a rope band attached to the front waist of the blouse which will be used to wrap the blouse securely round the body. So a zipper is not needed for the back.
To make this, you’re going to need your basic bodice block as a starting point for the wrap blouse pattern. If you don’t know how to draft this, check out my introduction to pattern drafting course where I’ll be showing you step by step how to draft the four foundational basic blocks of pattern drafting for yourself. Check it out here.
Now to the tutorial proper. Enjoy!
Are you going to be recreating this? If Yes, type in the comments section, I would really love to hear from you.
